BBVA Bancomer Foundation and the Monterrey Institute of Technology, Campus Puebla, presented the digital edition of “Social Synapsis: Scientific Journal on Sustainability”, a twice-yearly journal uses awareness-raising articles to stimulate the development of entrepreneurship and the creation of public policies that encourage a reduction in poverty.
Within the framework of the 8th International Seminar on Best Practices in CSR 2013, the Mexican Center for Philanthropy (CEMEFI) honored the BBVA Bancomer Foundation in the category “Business Foundation” for its support for education, culture, and social enterprise.
At Universidad Bancomer’s launching ceremony, the institution’s Vice President and General Director, Vicente Rodero Rodero, said “education has for many years been the backbone of the Financial Group’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program”.
BBVA Bancomer Foundation and the Secretariat for Public Education (SEP) are celebrating ten years of partnering to provide scholarships to excellent students across the country. The students are winners of the Children’s Knowledge Olympics, to whom the Federal Government and BBVA Bancomer provide 3 years of financial support during their secondary school education, provided that the students maintain an average score in their school grades of 8.5 or 9.
BBVA Bancomer has been recognized by the National Entrepreneurship Institute (INADEM) for its success in providing support to more micro, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) than any other financial institution, as well as for granting the most total credit to entrepreneurs in the country
BBVA Bancomer has opened its first digital branch in the Perisur shopping mall. It consists of a giant screen at which customers can carry out all the transactions they need.
To strengthen its commitment to education it has launched the “Becas Adelante” (Adelante scholarships) program for the 2,000 best students graduating from secondary school in the 2010/13 academic year under the “Por los que quedan” (For those left behind) program. Under this new program, the scholarship recipients will carry out a project of social impact in their communities during their second year of high school as part of the commitment they have acquired to the program and society.
