The BBVA Group has joined the group of companies participating in “Earth Hour”, an initiative involving voluntarily switching off the lights which has been promoted by WWF, one of the leading independent conservation organizations. This campaign, which will start on March 23 at 8:30 pm, has a twofold goal: on the one hand, to contribute to reduce CO2 emissions worldwide and, on the other hand, to promote a more sustainable and environmentally friendly life model.

The BBVA and Carolina Foundations have opened the call for 22 specialization scholarships to train Latin American graduates in Medicine, Economics and the Environment in Spain. The BBVA Bancomer Financial Group established a seven-year agreement with the Endowment Fund for the Benefit of El Colegio de México A.C. to provide an economic stimulus to the best undergraduate, master’s and PhD students at this academic institution, by recognizing them with the “BBVA Bancomer Foundation Colmex Excellence Award”. The agreement provides for the granting of up to 46 awards (23 per semester) of 10,000 pesos, amounting to up to 460 thousand pesos annually, which will be a stimulus to high academic achievement.
