44 candidates qualify in the initial phase of the 2012 Momentum Project

• A total of 97 enterprises from various sectors and regions were submitted to this second edition of the program
• Out of all of the candidates, 44 meet the requirements to become Momentum projects and thereby access specialized ESADE training and consultancy from the team of BBVA mentors
• In May the Scientific Committee will meet to select the 10 social enterprises that will take part in the 2012 edition

Momentum Project extends registration period until February 29

The deadline for nominations for the second Momentum Project has been extended until February 29 to meet the demands of social entrepreneurs who have attended the project’s presentations that have been made in various Spanish cities.

The €3 million BBVA-led investment vehicle funds seven projects in the first edition of the Momentum Project

Seven of the 10 projects selected for the first edition of Momentum Project will receive a total of €3 million in funding thanks to an investment vehicle designed by BBVA. Catering Solidario, DAU, Gran Vallés, Hornos Lamastelle, Moltacte, Roba Amiga and Teixidors will have access to soft loans, at interest rates of between 2% and 8% depending on their length. There will be a grace period for repayment of principal of between 2 and 4 years, and a return premium for the vehicle if there is a shareholder liquidity event in the companies in which it is invested.

Momentum Project celebrates its Social Investment Day

The social entrepreneurship projects selected by the Momentum Project will present their expansion plans to potential financiers at the Social Investment Day in Madrid on 6 October.
