According to the 2011 Socially Responsible Investment Observatory, the financial turmoil is affecting SRI to a lesser extent than mainstream funds. This reality, according to David Murillo, professor of the ESADE Institute for Social Innovation, “is because at present more transparent and more comprehensive finances are required with the economic goal of progress, which are more concerned with the sustainable development of our environment”.
