The Territorial Head Offices in Seville and Valencia have received ISO 14001 certification from the worldwide standards organization DNV (Det Norske Veritas, the Norwegian acronym). The standard ISO 14001 guarantees that the activities of these buildings are such as they have the least possible environmental impact, with the reduction of use of natural resources and the control of waste, spills, and carbon emissions.
BBVA Spain and Portugal, through the Premises department, a part of the Purchasing department, Premises and Services (CIS), in collaboration with the Catalunya DAR and the Technology and Operations department, has completed the project of three eco-efficient offices: small (Madrid – Arturo Soria), medium-size (Aranjuez) and large (Lleida). The inauguration of this office in Lleida falls within the BBVA Group Global Eco-efficiency Plan launched in 2008 and will make it possible to save an additional 60% annually and to reduce CO2 by 86,340 Kg.

The Group renews its environmental commitment. The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) represents over 550 institutional investors worldwide. Its main purpose is to provide these investors with tools to help them to understand how large companies assess the risks and opportunities associated with climate change, and how they are adapting to this.
